Fernando Moleres, winner of the 14th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Prize presented each year by Médicos del Mundo exhibits his collection ‘Children in African Prisons’ that portrays children detained in Sierra Leone prisons. Also exhibited is the work of the runners-up, Spanish Javier Arcenillas with snapshots of violence in Latin America and Italian Riccardo Venturi showing the Haiti earthquake.

The tour of the retrospective exhibition of the Luis Valtueña Prize will be in Torrelavega, Cantabria from 18 to 27 April

In collaboration with Alliance Française in Santander, the Spanish National University of Distance Learning UNED, the French Embassy and the non-governmental development organization NGDO.
The retrospective exhibition of the Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Prize will be at Casa de la Solidaridad in Santander from 1 until 15 April. This award, presented since 1998 by Médicos del Mundo, is both a tribute to anyone who ever deemed it worthwhile to try and save the world and a platform to promote the values of humanitarianism and solidarity.
The Luis Valtueña Prize commemorates our colleagues Manuel, Mercedes, Flor and Luis who were killed while taking part in humanitarian aid projects.
The exhibition has toured various countries where Médicos del Mundo has a presence such as Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Italy, France and Portugal.
